Before the race

How can i reach the hotline?
The hotline for participants is staffed on mondays and thursdays from 10:00 am to 04:00 pm on (+49) 06151/3524274.

Arrival

Where is the start and finish of the ŠKODA Velotour?
Start and finish line are on Sossenheimer Straße. The startin line-up is happening at the event area on Elly-Beinhorn-Straße. Please follow the signs on site to your starting blocks.

Where can I park my camper-van?
It is not possible to park a camper-van at the starting area in Eschborn. Please book a pitch at an official campsite.

Where can I park in Eschborn?
In consultation with the Main-Taunus-Zentrum we can offer you free parking there. Access is possible via A66 and B8. The route to the event area will be signposted.

In Eschborn there is paid parking in the industrial area Düsseldorfer Straße / Mannheimer Straße / Mergenthaler Allee. Access is possible via A66 coming from Frankfurt.

Which S-Bahn station is the closest?
Eschborn Süd. The distance to the event area (XXXLutz parking lot, Elly-Beinhorn-Straße) is approx. 1,5 km.

Registration

Until when can I register?
The registration is possible via the following link, as long as the maximum number of participants has not been reached.

I have troubles with the registration platform timeto, who can help me?
We have created a  manual for timeto for you. There you can find answeres to questions about the registration platform.

Who can I change my login data?
Corrections of the data stated in the registration (no change of name) can be made independently and free of charge until 31.03.2023 on the registration platform „timeto“ via the login (www.timeto.com).

Can I transfer my starting place?
You can easily transfer your starting place via the timeto registration platform until 31.03.2024. Log in to your existing account and select "Transfer Registration", then enter the e-mail address of the person to be transferred to and send the transfer. This person will shortly receive a notification that the starting place has been transferred to them. As soon as the person confirms this by clicking on the link in the email they receive, they can register for the current rate. You will receive the amount you paid minus a €10 processing fee back into your account. Substitute participants who are not re-registered will be disqualified.

After March 31st, re-registration is only possible on the event site on April 30th and May 1st during the race packet pick-up for a re-registration fee of €10 (cash or EC card). Please bring a signed power of attorney and a copy of the identity card of the person to be re-registered. The handling of the already paid entry fee will then be agreed between the two persons involved in the re-registration.

How does the late resgistration work?
The late registration form must be filled out completely and legibly and signed when the starting documents are handed out on 30.04. and 01.05. (only as long as there are enough starting places available!). Payment can be made in cash or by EC card. Please have your identity card ready.

Can I rebook my starting place for May 1, 2025?
It is not possible to rebook to the following year. Registrations can be rebooked to other participants for a fee of €10 until March 31, 2024.

Which bikes are allowed?
Whether racing bike, mountain bike, trekking bike or city bike, all types of bikes are welcome at the ŠKODA Velotour! However, please note the minimum speeds specified. Pedelecs (e-bikes) are only permitted at the ŠKODA Velotour Ride (without timekeeping). Participation with a tandem or handbike is also possible, please note that you must register in the special registration categories provided for this purpose. Cargo bikes are not permitted for safety reasons.

Can I take part in the ŠKODA Velotour with a pedelec (e-bike)?
Participation with a pedelec is only permitted in the ŠKODA Velotour Ride (without timekeeping), as long as the motor assistance is limited to a maximum of 25 km/h. S-pedelecs are not permitted. S-pedelecs are not permitted.

How are the starting blocks allocated?
The starting blocks are allocated on the basis of the stated average speed and previous participation in the Cycling Classic. Participants who are taking part in a cycling event for the first time and state an expected average speed of faster than 35 km/h may have to submit a verifiable result. Registration must be completed by April 14, 2024 in order to be entitled to the front starting blocks. Anyone registering after April 14 will not be entitled to a front starting block and may be placed in one of the rear starting blocks, depending on capacity, regardless of the average speed stated.

Issue of starting documents

When will I receive my race number and starting block?
All participants who have registered by 31.03.2024 will receive their race number and starting block by email no later than one week before the race day. Those who register later will only receive this information after the online registration deadline on 28.04

How do I collect my starting documents correctly?
Please bring your race number and your ID with you to collect your race pack. You will receive your race number by e-mail approx. 2 weeks before the event. The starting documents will be handed out on April 30th from 2:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the event site in Eschborn (Elly-Beinhorn-Straße 3-7, 65760 Eschborn). It is also possible to collect your race packet on the morning of May 1st between 07:00 and 08:30 am (please allow enough time in the morning before the start!). If you would like to pick up your race packet in advance, you can do so again this year from April 19-29 during regular opening hours at Fahrrad Denfeld (Urseler Str. 67, 61348 Bad Homburg vor der Höhe). ATTENTION: Collection in advance is only possible for participants who have registered online by March 31.

Can I pick up my race packet before 30.04.?
Yes, if you would like to pick up your starting documents in advance, you can do so again this year from April 19-29 during regular opening hours at Fahrrad Denfeld (Urseler Str. 67, 61348 Bad Homburg vor der Höhe). ATTENTION: Collection in advance is only possible for participants who have registered online by March 31.

Can someone else collect my race pack?
Yes, the person collecting the race pack must bring your registration confirmation, a signed authorization to collect the pack and a copy of the participant's ID card to the start pack collection point. This applies both to the collection of starting documents in advance at Fahrrad Denfeld and on site at the event venue.

Will the starting documents be sent to my home adress?
No, the starting documents will not be sent to you.

Where do I get my participant bag?
Before the race at the starting documents distribution.

 

Where can I find technical service for my bike?
Our partner Fahrrad Denfeld offers a bike check for just €5 in advance of the ŠKODA Velotour at the event area in Eschborn (XXXLutz parking lot). Shimano will also offer roadside assistance at certain points on the route (approx. km26 in Oberursel, approx. km46 at the Feldberg aid station, approx. km75 in Kelkheim).

On the day of the event

Shortly before the start

Where is the organizer's information stand?
The stand is located at the open area at the Expo in Eschborn.

Can I join my friends/colleagues in their starting block?
Only if they are in a slower starting block, further back. Positioning yourself in a starting group further ahead will result in disqualification.

When does the race start?
The start time is from 8:45 am to 9:50 am. Two weeks before the event, an email will be sent to participants with the starting block and specific starting time.

How do I find my starting block?
The individual starting blocks are signposted on site. They are located around the event area on Elly-Beinhorn-Straße.

Can I drop off my luggage before take-off?
No, there will not be a bag drop this year.

Are there toilets at the start?
There are portable toilets in several places in the starting area and at the starting blocks.

During the race

How does the start of the race work?
The starting blocks are open from 7:45 am and close 15 minutes before the respective starting time. With the first starting signal at 8:45 am, the different starting blocks roll off one after the other. The organizer reserves the right to briefly stop individual starting blocks before passing through the starting arch for organizational purposes.

What routes do exist?
This year all three routes of the ŠKODA Velotour will be offered again. The ŠKODA Velotour Taunus Classic with 103km, the ŠKODA Velotour Taunus Express with 92km and the ŠKODA Velotour Skyline with 40km. In addition, the ŠKODA Velotour Ride offers recreational cyclists the unique opportunity to start in their own starting block without timekeeping over 40 closed kilometers

Can I switch between distances during the race?
NO! This year, a distance change is only possible from a longer to a shorter route; participants who are registered for a shorter route and complete the longer route will be disqualified! The route separation points are signposted. In Oberursel, the participants of the ŠKODA Velotour Taunus Express / ŠKODA Velotour Taunus Classic turn right towards the city center of Oberursel and Feldberg, while the participants of the ŠKODA Velotour Skyline drive straight ahead towards Oberhochstadt. After leaving the town in Schwalbach, the ŠKODA Velotour Taunus Classic drives straight ahead over the Mammolshainer Stich, while ŠKODA Velotour Taunus Express turns right and drives straight back to Eschborn.

Are there refreshment points along the route? (ATTENTION: NEW LOCATION IN 2024)
For the two long routes ŠKODA Velotour Taunus Classic and Taunus Express, after approx. 46.1km there is a refreshment station immediately behind the Feldberg mountain classification on the right-hand side. Anyone who stops here has the opportunity to fill their bottles and treat themselves to fruit, bars and gel.

What do I do with my waste (gels, banana peels, etc.) during the race?
As with normal road traffic, on the ŠKODA Velotour you are obliged to dispose of your waste properly in the bins provided. These are located, for example, at the aid station or at the start and finish area. Anyone who throws away their rubbish on the track during the race will be disqualified.

How do I react if I fall?
Please help your fellow riders in the event of a fall and warn other participants. As in normal road traffic, the emergency number 112 also applies on May 1st. Please also state the starting number of the participant who has fallen so that they can be identified without any doubt.

Are there sweep carts?
There are sweep carts that collect participants who are too slow or can no longer ride.

*The minimum speeds apply to the total time from start to finish and are adapted to the route profile. You can therefore ride more slowly uphill, while a faster average speed is calculated when going downhill. What is relevant for the sweep cart is the time at cut-off points we have set and not the exact average speed. We ask that you be understanding and considerate of the sweep cart drivers who are doing their job that day

28.9 km route separation point Oberursel (All):
10:41 am: From this point on, all participants can only finish the race on the 40 km route (ŠKODA Velotour Skyline) and are no longer allowed to drive towards Feldberg.
11:16 am: Participants who arrive at the course separation point later will be removed from the race.
46.1 km Feldberg refreshment station (Taunus Classic + Taunus Express):
11:50 am: Participants who arrive at the aid station later will be removed from the race.
86.4 km route separation point Schwalbach Continental junction (Taunus Classic + Taunus Express):
1:19 pm: Participants who arrive at the course separation point later will be removed from the race.
93 km Königsteiner roundabout (Taunus Classic only):
1:40 p.m.: Participants who come to the Königsteiner roundabout later will be removed from the race.

Where can I find technical support on the race track?
Our partner Fahrrad Denfeld offers a bike check for just €5 in advance of the ŠKODA Velotour on the event site in Eschborn (XXXLutz parking lot). Shimano will also offer roadside assistance at certain points on the route (approx. km26 in Oberursel, approx. km46 at the Feldberg aid station, approx. km75 in Kelkheim). The motorcyclists in the race will also be equipped with the most necessary material for breakdown assistance and can, if necessary, hand over material to you so that you can repair minor breakdowns yourself.

Is it mandatory to wear a helmet?
Participants in the ŠKODA Velotour are required to wear a bicycle helmet with a closed chin strap. Participants without a helmet will be disqualified.

After the race

Is there an after-race area?
After you cross the finish line, you will be directed to the after-race area at the XXXLutz parking lot, where there will be snacks and drinks for all participants. After you have reached the finish line, please continue to ride until you reach the after-race area and only stop there.

Are there showers on site?
This year, showers are available at the Heinrich-Graf-Sportanlage, Am Sportfeld 16, 65760 Eschborn (approx. 1.5 km from the event site on foot or by bike). Please remember that there is no guarded bicycle parking space near the showers.

Where is the DRK located?
At the race day, the DRK is located directly at the after-race refreshment area of ​​the ŠKODA Velotour in the XXXLutz parking lot.

Where is the transponder drop off?
These are disposable transponders that do not have to be returned.

Where can I get my pictures of the race?
You can find your pictures after the race on www.getpica.com or in the result list directly after your name.

How do I get to the Alte Oper from Eschborn?
You can follow the cycle path signs towards the city center or cycle to the “Eschborn Süd” S-Bahn station, from where you can take the S-Bahn to the “Taunusanlage” station. From there you are directly at the event area in Frankfurt and can watch the professionals race.

Where is the Lost & Found?
Lost property is handed in at the information tent at the Expo in Eschborn.

Where are bikes from the sweep cart dropped off?
Bicycles that were collected by the sweep cart will be left at the information tent at the Expo in Eschborn.

Results, ratings, honors

Where can I find the result lists?

Where can I find my certificate?
All participants can access their certificates online via the result list and print it out themselves.

Who will be honored at the awards ceremony?
At the award ceremony, the top 3 male/female finishers, the age group winners and the best men's and women's teams on all 3 routes will be honored. In addition, there will be a tribute to the Tissot Mountain King and the Tissot Mountain Queen. Honors and possible prizes only take place as part of the award ceremony on site; there is no right to forwarding of prizes.

How does the team ranking work?
The team ranking takes place solely on the basis of the teams formed in the registration process, regardless of club or company affiliation. The scoring is done for each route by adding up the overall placings of 4 participants from a team in the order in which they cross the finish line. The places 1-4 of the respective team are counted as the first-placed team, the places 5-8 as the second-placed team, etc.

When does the award ceremony take place?
The award ceremony will take place after the individual races from around 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on the large stage at the event site in Eschborn. Great prizes await you, including from Uvex, Sigma and SKS.
