Eschborn-Frankfurt sharpens its profile and becomes even more demanding

Eschborn-Frankfurt is raising its sporting challenge. On 1 May, the UCI WorldTour race covers 210 kilometres and more than 3,300 metres of climbing. A new ascent, a reworked Taunus section and a tougher run-in make the German classic noticeably harder.
The day begins with a change right from the start. Due to construction work on the town hall square, the start area in Eschborn moves to Eschenplatz. Surrounded by the large Eschborn festival area, the race day sends the pros straight into the Taunus before heading back to Frankfurt.
One glance at the route profile is enough: this is a race without breathers. In 2026, Eschborn-Frankfurt features a consistently demanding course where every climb and every section shape the race.
Two major upgrades on Feldberg and Mammolshain
The Feldberg is the Taunus-highlight and the icon of the cycling classic. For three years, it has shaped the race twice over. Now it becomes even tougher. In 2026, both ascents will take place on the more selective south-western side. For the riders, this means earlier pressure and a new opportunity for aggressive racing.
The Mammolshainer Stich in Königstein, a defining feature of the event for many years, also takes on a new role. While the race still tackles it three times, the middle ascent shifts closer to the finale. Two steep climbs in quick succession increase the load in the final quarter of the race. This section has long been a hotspot for fans – now it becomes even more of a decisive battleground before the race heads towards Frankfurt.
