ADAC Velotour Sold Out with 12,000 Participants

February 26 th 2026 - 15:15

The 2026 ADAC Velotour is fully sold out. Nearly ten weeks before the start on May 1, all 12,000 starting places have been taken – earlier than ever before and with more participants than ever. The amateur race, held as part of Eschborn–Frankfurt, thus continues its growth trajectory. Following this year’s sell-out, attention is already turning to the next edition. Those wishing to take part on May 1, 2027, can now pre-register at adac-velotour.de.

Only in January had the participant limit been increased from 10,000 to 12,000 entries. It is now clear that the expanded capacity has also been fully exhausted – significantly earlier than last year. The ADAC Velotour therefore further strengthens its position as one of Germany’s most popular amateur cycling events.

On May 1, 12,000 participants will take to the start line on three varied routes through the Taunus region. Once again, the longest distance has proven particularly popular: the majority of riders have opted for the demanding 97-kilometre “Taunus Classic,” featuring the iconic climbs of Feldberg and Mammolshainer Stich.

Volunteers wanted for the Cycling Classic

To ensure the smooth and safe delivery of the race on May 1, numerous dedicated volunteers are required. In particular, course marshals are being sought to secure key points along the route – both for the elite race and the ADAC Velotour. Additional support is also needed in the finish and athlete service areas.

Anyone wishing to be part of this special sporting event can get actively involved and experience the unique atmosphere of May 1 up close. Participation is open to all adults. All volunteers will receive thorough preparation and an official event shirt, a goodie bag, as well as financial compensation.

Clubs and groups are welcome to sign up and assist with designated sections of the course. Further information on registration is available here.
