Eschborn–Frankfurt will bring traffic changes on 1 May
April 24 th 2026 - 12:00
On 1 May, the region will once again be dedicated to cycling: with Eschborn–Frankfurt, the German UCI WorldTour classic will pass through Eschborn, Frankfurt and the Taunus. Extensive temporary traffic measures along the route are required to ensure a safe race for the professionals as well as the 12,000 participants in the amateur events.
Residents, visitors and excursion traffic should expect noticeable restrictions on the day of the event. Eschborn, Frankfurt city centre with the circuit and finish area, as well as numerous sections of the route in the Taunus will be particularly affected. In Eschborn, closures will apply from 07:00 depending on the area, and in Frankfurt in the city centre and circuit area from 06:00. Parts of the finish area at Alte Oper will already be affected from 30 April.
Comprehensive information on traffic regulations on the day of the event is available on the official website verkehr.eschborn-frankfurt.de. There, residents and visitors will find, among other things:
- information on road closures, diversions and checkpoints,
- a detailed overview of closure and access times,
- location-specific closure times for roads from A to Z,
- personalised route advice and a helpline,
- as well as guidance on live navigation on race day via the interactive map and Waze.
For enquiries regarding traffic in advance, the event team can be contacted by email at verkehr.eschborn-frankfurt@aso-germany.de. Enquiries will be answered until 29 April 2026. For urgent matters relating to the event, a traffic information hotline is available on +49 6151 3945060:
- 29 and 30 April from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm
- 1 May from 7.00 am to 6.30 pm
On 1 May, restrictions are also expected on some bus and tram lines in public transport. S-Bahn and U-Bahn services are generally the most reliable option for travelling to the finish area; the Taunusanlage and Alte Oper stations are located in close proximity to the finale. Up-to-date information on timetables and diversions is available via the RMV service hotline on +49 69 2424 8024, online and in the RMVgo app.
In addition, destinations along the route are also affected by the measures. For example, Opel Zoo has already indicated race-related restrictions on access and departure and will therefore open at 08:30 on 1 May.
