More Sustainability
Sustainability also plays an important role within the Eschborn–Frankfurt cycling classic. As a modern sporting event, we focus on environmentally friendly mobility, short distances, and mindful event management in order to keep the impact on nature and the environment as low as possible.
The race therefore stands not only for outstanding sporting performance, but also for a sustainable use of resources. By promoting cycling and making use of existing infrastructure, it sends a clear message in favour of climate-friendly mobility and future-oriented events in the region.
Environmental Measures
Herzenswald Schmitten
The cycling classic runs through the Taunus—a region that is particularly affected by climate change. With our reforestation initiative, we are sending a clear message: for every kilometre of the elite race course, one tree is planted.
Participants in the ADAC Velotour can also get directly involved and donate additional trees. In this way, climate-resilient mixed forests are created using native tree species such as service tree, wild cherry, and sweet chestnut. Since 2023, trees have been planted for every kilometre of the elite race, and participants have also contributed trees to the “Herzenswald” (Forest of the Heart)—a strong signal for the future of our forests.
Since 2023: 1,235 trees planted (as of 01 May 2025)
Green Mobility Initiatives
The cycling classic moves the region—and we move with it in a sustainable way. At the Eschborn–Frankfurt cycling race, things are not only sporty and dynamic on the bikes. Behind the scenes as well, we are sending a clear signal for climate protection.
We are very pleased that this year already 42.5% of the vehicles used on the course are fully electric or hybrid!
